The Barovier&Toso Museum

The Barovier&Toso Museum has been open to the public since 1995.

It is the only private glass museum in Venice: a place open to selected visitors, glass lovers, collectors, students and researchers.

The Museum is on the specially renovated top floor of the Palazzo Contarini, a 17th century building which is now the company’s headquarters.

In an intimate yet carefully arranged setting, around 250 objects are displayed from the Barovier&Toso collection.
The objects represent the best of the work produced in 20th Century and designed mainly by Ercole Barovier, the most important “entrepreneur-designer-artist” of Murano glass of the century.

A large part of the Museum is not exhibited but may be consulted: the imposing historic archives include thousands of original designs, photos, work documents, etc. collected by the company over the course of the last 100 years of activity.
