Hotel Principe di Savoia

Milan, Italy

Designed by the famous Milanese architect Cesare Tenca, the hotel occupies an imposing neoclassical building. Originally intended for businessmen, it became popular in the 1930s among royalty, celebrities, and world-renowned artists performing at Teatro alla Scala. Today, it is part of the Dorchester Collection. It occupies a strategic position between old Milan and the new Porta Nuova district, positioning itself as a reference point for travelers seeking an exclusive and refined location. From the lobby, the hotel declares its unmistakable Art Nouveau style. The reception and lounge area form a single elegant space, with marble floors and high-end finishes. All the lighting here has been entrusted to Barovier&Toso, which has adorned the space with a series of Maryland wall lamps, while the spotlight is on two chandeliers from the same collection. In particular, the lounge area stands out for a bespoke two-level Maryland chandelier with delicately colored shades, drop pendants, and a distinctive arrangement of arms. The Royal Suite bedroom features an even more unique piece, a classic Venetian chandelier made by Barovier&Toso according to tradition, a non catalog creation in Venetian crystal, incredibly rich in details.
