In the southwestern city of Kunming, a private villa designed by Simon Chong embodies a vision of refined simplicity. Conceived as a retreat, the 16,000-square-foot home is defined by essential forms, pale surfaces, and a quiet balance between structure and light. At the heart of the living room, the Nevada chandelier by Barovier&Toso takes center stage. Its layered, geometric structure adds a bold yet restrained presence, an architectural punctuation that resonates with the floor-to-ceiling windows and the home’s contemplative spirit. A luminous accent that enhances, rather than overwhelms, the elegance of the space. In the entrance hall, two Ikebana table lamps are placed symmetrically on either side of a large mirror, creating a balanced and graceful composition. With their satin-finished glass and pure lines, they speak softly setting the tone for the home’s quiet and harmonious atmosphere.
