Barovier&Toso collaborates with artist Conie Vallese on a vase collection for the project “Fonderia Fendi”, unveiled at Design Miami 2025.
Barovier&Toso has partnered with Argentine artist and designer Conie Vallese to create an exclusive collection of vases for the Fonderia Fendi installation presented at Design Miami 2025. Conceived to celebrate FENDI’s centenary, the collaboration is part of Vallese’s immersive project inspired by Les Cinq doigts d’une Main (1994) by Karl Lagerfeld—an allegory portraying the five Fendi sisters as a single creative force. The initiative weaves together themes of female empowerment and Italian craftsmanship, bringing together five distinguished craftsmanship excellences to reinterpret the Maison’s aesthetic through exceptional materials and time-honored techniques.
A benchmark in Murano glassmaking, Barovier&Toso developed a trio of hand-blown matte glass vases in pastel tones of “anice” blue, “sorbetto” yellow, and cream, each embellished with sculpted floral motifs. Soft veils of color, iridescent nuances, and delicate gradients echo both Vallese’s poetic sensibility and the decorative language conceived for the Fonderia Fendi “salon”—an immersive, cocoon-like environment defined by light, organic forms, and monumental materials.
In dialogue with works in bronze, ceramics, textiles, and leather—crafted respectively by Fonderia Battaglia, Officine Saffi Lab, cc-tapis, and FENDI’s leather ateliers—Barovier&Toso’s glass creations enrich the installation with the distinctive elegance of Murano tradition. Each piece is shaped using artisanal techniques passed down since the 13th century, reinterpreted with a contemporary perspective to elevate the brand’s identity
