Barovier&Toso presents 2026 Chapter 1, the first chapter of a renewal journey that profoundly redefines the brand’s identity.
On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2026, Barovier&Toso presents 2026 Chapter 1, a project that marks the beginning of a new phase in the company’s history: a first tangible expression of a renewal journey that organically involves strategic vision, design language, and visual identity.
Guided by Andrea Signoroni, the brand’s first CEO, and by Luca Nichetto, appointed Artistic Director in 2025, this transition finds its first manifestation in the new identity developed by Studio Blanco, together with a system of content and presentations extending across Milan, Venice, and Murano. A widespread project that builds a cohesive and unified narrative, capable of presenting Barovier&Toso in a renewed and conscious form.
2026 Chapter 1 thus represents the affirmation of an integrated vision, in which governance, image, and design converge into a single language. Tradition and innovation do not oppose one another, but are recognized as parts of the same evolutionary process, aimed at expanding the brand’s international presence and redefining its contemporary positioning.
A space that becomes language
Within the showroom on Via Durini, the exhibition project conceived by NICHETTO® takes shape as a calibrated and immersive space, envisioned as a casket. Backdrops and plinths create a fluid sequence in which environments separate and connect at the same time, generating a rhythm of perspectives, reflections, and pauses.
The choice of natural materials and light tones (light fabrics, wooden surfaces) recalls the essential nature of the furnace, evoking a universe in which matter is still in the making. In this context, glass emerges in its most authentic dimension: not as a decorative element, but as a living presence, capable of defining space through light.
The installation does not simply present—it constructs an experience. An environment where light spreads naturally, revealing surfaces, transparencies, and depth, and where each element contributes to a silent balance between the visible and the perceived.
A dialogue between light and matter
“I envisioned this project as a silent dialogue between light and matter,” says Luca Nichetto. This statement encapsulates the deeper meaning of 2026 Chapter 1. To be from Murano means to carry an instinctive knowledge of glass, but also to engage with the weight of its history. The challenge is not to preserve, but to transform.
The project is grounded in this tension: listening to tradition in order to understand its possibilities, and translating it into a language capable of expressing itself in the global present. Light thus becomes a tool of interpretation, while glass asserts itself as an active material, capable of generating forms, reflections, and new spatial relationships.
Towards a new expression
2026 Chapter 1 opens a path that extends beyond the exhibition moment, anticipating a new design phase for Barovier&Toso. The new synergies in place outline a clear direction: to build a more defined and recognizable identity, capable of evolving without losing its connection to its roots. Within this process, the company’s heritage is understood as a living resource, from which to draw inspiration to imagine new forms and new languages.
